You mention how the fight between the Man In Black and Inigo is the most polite fight ever. Everyone expects that we'd get a nasty fight between a mercenary and a pirate. But these two are highly trained gentlemen and men of honor. Inigo is in no hurry and loves the thrill of the fight, and MIB has no real quarrel with Inigo other than he is an obstacle to Buttercup. In truth, but actors are very well trained swordsmen and loved to practice with each other and had the amazing choreography of the legendary Bob Anderson. Everyone had a great time on this movie.
Absolutely love this movie! Such a classic! Top choice of snack, Millie - love some strawberries and pineapple :D Andre the Giant was a famous wrestler. Such a gentle, loving man. 20:36 That's Billy Crystal xD
guys, if you want to talk, pause the video. It feels to me that you miss lots of important plot points while you want to talk things over in regards of what was said before.
they use delousing powder. and they aren't policemen, they are called guards.
I'm a little surprised James and Millie don't know more about the actual events portrayed here. Especially being so close to the historical areas. When I saw the planning board say "Operation Market Garden", I immediately knew a disaster was coming.
Ay, YT had me barred from comments... congratulations on the marriage yall. Patience and understanding.. Patience and understanding
You have just learned one of the truisms of war. It is infinite boredom surrounded by sheer moments of terror. Do I know from personal experience? I only wish that I did not but that is another story for another time and place, enough said.
There are a few movies that are perfect; good acting, excellent writing, pacing flows well, and screenplay is tight. Princess Bride is one of those films. Ghostbusters, The Green Mile, 12 Angry Men, Shawshank Redemption, The Sing, and What's Up Doc are others that fit the bill. What's Up, Doc is probably the least famous but certainly belongs to this lofty list. It's What's called a screwball comedy, filmed in the 1970s but reminiscent of American comedies from 1920s & 1930s. It might be less known than the aforementioned films, but it's just as worthy.
I have never seen this movie yet, it looks like a satire comedy, will have to see it soon, know it's a good movie.😊
Another good movie to check out is "Mr. Holland's Opus", if you haven't already seen it.
Good man, she finally let you put a ring on her. Love you guys.
I was putting a handful of goldfish in my mouth as Millie said "Better not be Goldfish" and I froze.
That was the last time Monty ever was listened to again
If you guys ever get a chance, I highly recommend watching the movie "A Bridge Too Far" (from 1977 with Sean Connery & Micheal Caine and a whole host of other amazing 70's acting icons!). But the movie is a theatrical look at how the whole Market Garden operation went tits up & how the poor British 1st Airborne lost 8000 after being dropped damn near right on top of the II Panzer Korps. From my understanding the 1st Airborne lost so much of it's fighting strength from the botched battle here they didn't get mobilized for the rest of the war. It is a war movie so some blood and guts and all that is to be expected. But I'd personally rank it like a 4/10 in terms of blood and guts nastiness & a 7/10 in terms of story/action. (So it's not as gory as "Gladiator" or "The Patriot" and it's not as intense on getting to know all the characters as "Band of Brothers" or "Black Hawk Down"). It focuses more on how a rushed plan quickly fell apart and how truly ill equipped anyone was for this battle. If you'd like to change the mood instead, and I wouldn't blame you! I recommend "October Sky" is a really good inspirational movie. "Harlem Nights", "Blazing Saddles", "Used Cars", or "Uncle Buck" are hilarious can't go wrong comedies. Anyways, I've rambled long enough! Keep up the fantastic reviews!
Shoulda gave the fuel to patton
I know you watched this quite a while ago, but if you are still interested, there is a series of how it was filmed on the American Veterans Center yt channel that is amazing. It details how each actor researched and developed their characters and explains why these gentlemen still go back to Normandy every year.
The Jagpanzer was a formidable tank killer, and especially on the Russian front.
Nice reaction. My snack is usually pork cracklings, Chex mix or Reese’s pieces and Mountain Dew.
Winters: "Never put yourself in a position to take from these men" Buck: "Alright...I'll throw left handed then..." 🎯😄
"Quit looking at me like that! Am I alright??" Is one of my favorite moments. Between Winters and Nix, the care is there. Not bad for Nix, with bullet holes in his helmet, having never fired his weapon in combat. ♠
The child @ 9:50 has lived his entire life under the thumb of the Germans. That is why he has never had chocolate before.
and then the first choclolate he gets is puke tasting US chocolate. This is one unlucky kid. :D
You're such a cute couple, look to your heart's content.
Beer! lol
So, you dont it could get more intense than episode 3 hunh? BUHAHAHA
During the liberation of Eindhoven scene- the old man wearing the hat to the left of where a soldier is sitting with a girl on his lap is ACTUALLY Babe Heffron.
The guy who said "Just tap me on the shoulder when the green light comes on" to Sergeant Martin was color blind. He lied to the army bc he couldn't face sitting at home when all his friends went to fight.
You guys should definitely watch once upon a Time in Hollywood
People might be interested in recent excavations at Aldbourne recovering stuff from the wartime and of Brothers. ua-cam.com/video/9FStlTaPxlA/v-deo.htmlsi=ihpRFjw7qYfoFBds&t=1207
The "laundry" hung out the window was an orange flag for the Dutch House of Orange, the Dutch royal dynasty. The woman with her head shaved, which you nearly missed due to chair adjustments, was a collaborator and her baby was probably fathered by a German soldier. To understand this episode, you need to understand the structure of Allied forces in WW II. The American, Gen. Eisenhower, was the "Supreme Allied Commander". Under Eisenhower, British Gen. Bernard Montgomery, who had been so successful at El Alamein in North Africa and then in Sicily, commanded all ground forces at Normandy. Once the battle for western Europe was fully established, he was made a Field Marshall and given command of the British 21st Army Group. As such, he planned Operation Market Garden which was as described in the video: An attempt to seize bridges across the Rhine River in the Netherlands and send large troop formations across them into Northern Germany in order to short circuit the war. Unfortunately, the intelligence was wrong and the German forces in the Netherlands were much stronger than expected. They repelled the attack and the Allies were left having to find another way across the river and into Germany. Ultimately, they made a more southern crossing and marched into Bavaria, southern Germany, Austria and Czechoslovakia. All this is depicted in later episodes of the series.
Goldfish? Raw like in "A Fish Called Wanda"?
Gullet time Wanda!
My "snack" is smoked chicken, <stuffed with Goldfish> cheesy Au Gratin potatoes, and corn-on-the-cob.
Kosher pickle!
yay thank you. please watch “the pacific”
And "Masters of the Air" and "Generation War" (WW II from the German side that is stylistically similar to BofB): Enough material for years.
@@BTinSF yes^^^^^^^
The actor who played Inidigo lost his father to cancer. In an interview, he said he drew from the pain of that loss and channeled all of his anger and grief and aimed it at the actor playing count Rugen imagining him to be the cancer that killed his father.
Yalls reaction to the priests "mawagge" 😂😂
Deadpool recreated these scene with the same kid in the bed, now an adult in the pg-13 version. 😂
The sivk kid is played by Fred Savage. He starred at the age in The Wonder Years. It was about the 60's and 70's and those times. It was a sitcom. Be prepare for laughs and tears.
Stand By Me is an amazing 80's movie.. beautiful, , wonderful..
I didn't hear you mention it, but you know that was Jenny from Forrest Gump, right? "Run, Wesley, run!"
I know you probably only take movie reaction suggestions from your patrion members. But I thought I'd at least ask if you would possibly consider a couple of good movies. Master and Commander. ( Staring Russell Crowe) . It's a British Navy movie back in the days of Napoleon. It focuses on the Royal Navy ship HMS Surprise and it's crew. As they pursue a bigger, faster, superior armed French ship The Akaron. It's an epic movie and it will keep you on the edges of your seats the whole time. Then there is the movie based on a true story. Of a young boy who has a unique talent. And how it effects him and his parents. It doesn't sound like a great movie but it definitely is. I just can't get into the details too much without spoiling some of the movies charms. The title is Searching for Bobby Fisher. Unfortunately it came out the same year as some really huge blockbuster movies and it was ultimately overlooked by most critics and movie goers. But it's a great movie nonetheless. I really hope either you two consider these two or hopefully a patreon member will read this and suggest it for me. We'll see.
Love y’all’s reactions to movies like this. Thank you, Chance!
If you want a gem that no one knows, check out "Streets of Fire" a 1984 film. It's a bit cheesy like this one was, only a far better cast. Big names like Michael Pare, William Dafoe, Rick Moranis, Diane Lane, Amy Madigan, Bill Paxton, and a few more that were far more famous at the time like Debra Van Valkenburg.
Both Cary Elwes (Wesley) and the director Rob Reiner had to leave the set during the miracle Max scenes as they could not stop laughing. Most of the lines from Max and his wife were adlibs. Inigo may or may not have cracked a rib trying not to laugh. The actor playing the count stated that he was terrified of Inigo in that final scene as he wasn't sure that the actor (Mandy Pantikan) wasn't going to actually kill him. Oh, and the reason that Inigo recovered so quickly was that he did taste a bit of the miracle Max made... it was enough to keep him alive. The cast really had a LOT of fun making the movie and the stories they tell are hilarious.
Have fun storming the castle.
You said something at the end that sounded like the word willow and i have the perfect suggestion for a reaction. Willow staring Val Kilmer and warwick davis, its a fantasy movie thats great fun.
he was a french professional wrestler
thats andre the giant RIP, you should watch the documentary on him its fascinating.
It's a wonderful movie. I've loved it for a long time. ❤
That is actually them fencing when inego and wesley fight, They spent months training in swordsmanship and they got very good. When the 6 fingered man conks wesley on the head with his sword pommel he hit him too hard and the actor got a concussion. The scene when Inego finally confronts the 6 fingered man when he says I want my father back Mandys actual father had died of cancer only a few weeks prior and he channeled his hate for cancer into his lines.
The Princess Bride was a favorite of my wife and I when we moved from Texas to California in the 1990's... In some ways (hindsight is always 20/20) the film was a metaphor for our "jumping off" and taking the plunge! Best to you both... ♥ P.S. Hope to see y'all in Fort Worth, TX sometime.
